*duo programsNels Ross and Richie Derwald are The UP Guys – “edutainers” who uplift and empower. Working solo, duo, and with other speakers and talents, they have uplifted people for 20+ years – Nels as an educator, comedian, and juggler; Richie as a singer, impersonator, and "The Mental Health NUT;" and both as co-founders of UP Team LLC and the Rotary-inspired nonprofit UPLFFT.
Fun Fact: They have won rave reviews from the National Comedy Center, U.S. military, and hundreds of others... And still don't know why.
⋯Nels Ross
*solo programsNels is an edutainer who uplifts and empowers people in the U.S. and abroad. He works solo and with other speakers and talents, as co-founder of The UP Guys, UP Team, and the Rotary-inspired nonprofit UPLFFT. His background includes: studying math and education (BS, MEd); training with top performing arts instructors; touring with a nonprofit circus; "juggling" work and family life; and promoting wellness, mental health, growth, and fun for 20+ years.
Fun Fact: His full name is Nels Ross Cremean, but he claims, “That’s too much for me to remember.”
⋯Richie Derwald
*solo programsRichie is "The Mental Health NUT" – a performer, speaker, and radio personality who promotes Nurturing Uplifting Thinking (NUT). His experience in singing, impressions, acting, and pro wrestling led to work at events and resorts across North America. He also fought depression, addictions, and fear of stuttering to do all of this. These days, he uplifts and empowers as co-founder of The UP Guys, UP Team, and the Rotary-inspired nonprofit UPLFFT.
Fun Fact: When he was a pro wrestler, he sometimes teamed up with his dad, who was inducted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame in 2024.
