The UP Guys are inviting 40 friends to a “Unite for Good” Friend-raiser on Friday, March 27, 2026, 6:30-8:30pm at RISE Coffeehouse, 1643 Hertel Ave, Buffalo NY. The UP Guys, Nels Ross and Richie Derwald, are speakers and entertainers from the Buffalo area who provide professional development and also serve nonprofits (theupguys.com). They have won rave reviews from the National Comedy Center, National Center for Education Research & Technology, U.S. Department of Defense, and others. “I’ve seen us before,” says Richie, “The real stars for this event will be our generous friends.”

RISE of WNY is a nonprofit that serves coffee and treats while serving their neighbors (riseofwny.org). They empower at-risk youth, adults with disabilities, seniors, and others with faith, hope, and community. 100% of funds from this event will go to RISE, and they hope some friends become long-term supporters. Nels says, “They model service above self, which is the heart of Rotary, too.”

Rotary International is a nonprofit that promotes service projects and values like truth, fairness, goodwill, and friendship (rotary.org). Nels and Richie are members of Buffalo Sunrise Rotary Club, one of many clubs in the area. “We love their ‘Unite for Good’ theme,” they explain, “We want to promote awareness of Rotary, RISE, and all who are doing good.”
